Gusta Artichokes in Olive Oil

I originally ordered these artichokes for an antipasto board, nothing more ambitious than opening a jar and making the table look like I had planned ahead. They were the first thing gone. The pieces were tender without collapsing, and the oil had enough flavor that I saved it instead of pouring it down the drain. Two nights later I spooned that oil into a skillet, added garlic and bread crumbs, then tossed it all with pasta and the few artichokes I had managed to hide. My husband walked in and said 'wait, this came from the leftover jar?' Yep. Since then ive put them on a panini, chopped them into a salad, and eaten one directly over the sink when I was supposedly making lunch. The jar arrived wrapped well with no leaking around the lid. They are not cheap, so this is probably not going into every weekday meal, but they earned a permanent place in the pantry for company and for nights when dinner needs help fast. Next order will be two jars because pretending one is enough was silly

The artichokes themselves tasted fine, but oil had leaked inside the box and the lid was slick when I opened it. A few pieces also felt softer than I like. We used them on pizza so they didnt go to waste, but at this price the pacakging should be more secure. Not excited to gamble on another jar

Packaging held up in shipping and the seal popped normally. My neighbor tasted one while I was building the board and immediately pulled out her phone to look them up. UPDATE: ordered two more jars because one is clearly not enough if people are coming over

Jar was oily around the rim when it arrived and that annoyed me. The artichokes tasted good on a salad once cleaned up, but yeah, not my favorite delivery experience.

They taste fine and the oil is nice. I just found the brine a little saltier than I expected. Rinsing helps but then you lose some of the flavor. Personal preference issue probably, not a quality issue.

on my fourth jar. use them on everything. salads pasta boards paninis. dont overthink it just get them

threw these on a simple arugula salad with shaved parm and lemon. used a bit of the jar oil as the dressing. genuinely the best salad ive made at home. so easy.

The artichokes are good. Firm enough to hold up on a panini, tender enough to eat straight. The oil is the bonus that makes this worth the price over other jarred options.

Good flavor. The artichokes are noticeably better than what I get at the grocery store. My issue is purely the jar size for the price. Goes fast if you actually cook with them regularly.

I have been putting these on pizza for two months and I am not going back. Rough chop, drain a little, top the pizza after it comes out of the oven. Done. Better than any pizza topping I have used.

My go-to panini is now prosciutto, these artichokes, and fresh mozzarella. I have made it probably 15 times since discovering this jar. My husband asks for it by name now.

Comparison to canned artichokes is not even useful. Different product entirely. The texture is soft and the flavor actually tastes like artichoke instead of brine.

If you are used to the soft almost mushy artichokes you get in restaurant dips, these are different. They have actual texture. They hold a bite. I preferred them but my partner found them too firm. Worth knowing before ordering.

Read a comment saying to save the oil. Did it. Used it on pasta with just garlic and crushed red pepper. It was the best pasta I made all month.

These are delicious but the first time I put them on pizza without draining well enough and the oil made the crust soggy. Completely my fault. Drain them, pat them a little, and they are perfect. The oil goes into a little bowl for bread dipping. Learned my lesson. Now it's a system.

the artichokes themselves were fine but the lid on the jar was slightly cracked when it arrived. nothing spilled but not ideal packaging. flavor is great which is why im leaving 3 stars instead of less

I have tried probably six different jarred artichoke brands over the years. Most of them taste like the can they came in. These actually taste like the artichoke. The texture holds up in a salad without falling apart. The oil is fragrant and not greasy. I am not buying the grocery store version again.

I almost did not read the note about saving the oil. That would have been a mistake. I used the oil to finish a simple pasta dish and it had more flavor than olive oils I have bought specifically as finishing oils. The artichokes themselves are also quite good - tender and clean tasting.
